Accreditation Liaison Officers (ALOs) are invited to participate in the 2012-2013 ALO Workshop being offered at three different locations. The ACCJC sponsers this Workshop for new and experienced ALOs at member institutions. Attendance is free and lunch will be provided.
Invitations are sent to ALOs at member institutions in geographic proximity to workshop sites. The 2012-2013 workshops are planned for:
* Friday, February 22, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Chaffey College
* Friday, November 30, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Fresno City College
The goal of the workshop is to present leadership and communication responsibilities required of ALOs in promoting educational quality and institutional effectiveness. The first part of the workshop will be a briefing on recent developments at ACCJC and at the federal level, such as changes to the ACCJC Rubric for Evaluating Institutional Effectiveness, Accreditation Standards, Commission manuals, the ALO Discussion Board, the “Accreditation Basics” online course, and an update on changes in federal legislation that will affect accreditors and institutions of higher education.
The second part of the workshop will be training for ALOs who are new in their roles. Experienced ALOs are invited to share what they have learned, and all ALOs are encouraged to ask questions in a “lessons learned from the field” segment when expectations and challenges will be discussed.
