Retreat on Assessment in Practice (replaces Level II Retreat)
The Retreat on Assessment Practice (replaces Level II Retreat) was held October 27-29, 2011, in Berkeley, California.
The Assessment Practice retreat is co-sponsored by the two postsecondary Commissions of WASC. This retreat provides participants with presentations from institutions with broad assessment systems in place that have successfully closed the loop based on assessment findings. Each participating team shared two promising practices from its own campus experience. Topics included:
- adapting the campus infrastructure to support the culture of evidence
- successful strategies for engaging faculty and other campus professionals in assessment
- a specific assessment study, including description of data collection, data analysis, and the impact of the study
- incorporating student learning outcomes into program reviews, and
- assuring the quality of campus assessment
The retreat was led by nationally acclaimed facilitators Mary Allen and Amy Driscoll. The registration fee was $485 per team member. Registration deadline was Friday, October 7, 2011.
